Schritt für Schritt (2023)
metal, 12 x 21 x 83 cm

This sculpture was created solely through the act of welding, without the addition of any external material. Using a welding machine for the first time, I allowed the machine’s wire to emerge and melt—dot by dot—layer upon layer. During the process, I could only see the glowing tip of the weld; the rest remained hidden. Guided by touch, rhythm, and guesswork, the form grew blindly beneath me. The resulting shape is a direct imprint of my physical orientation, the shifting relationship between my body and the object’s increasing height. It is the accumulated trace of imprecision and adaptation—an organic form shaped by the negotiation between intention, limitation, and chance.
